The skinny on Saks’ sales: Chevy Chase
Shoes: This is where I begin every sale shopping safari. The selection on the racks this time was not the best I’ve seen. However, it is definitely worth going to slip your tootsies into some 40% off
Ferragamo’s. The

racks were filled primarily with
Cole Haan,
Stuart Weitzman,
BCBG, and
Ferragamo. I spotted a
Louboutin or two (this brand newly debuted at the Saks in Chevy Chase). For me, the best bets were the patent leather
Ferragamo ballet flats in kelly green, ruby red, and hot pink. I’m hoping they’re saving the Manolo’s, Choo’s, and Gucci’s for the 60% cuts!
Women’s Contemporary: The big racks aren’t out in the middle yet, so just head to your fave designer’s nook. Hovering amidst the full-price clothes, you’ll find
Milly,
Marc Jacobs,
Diane von Furstenberg, and
Nanette Lepore marked down 30-40%. Some of the tags are already marked and some will be taken off at the counter. Just be sure that the unmarked items are actually on sale! You don’t want to fall in love with a gorgeous dress, only to find it cash-in at $500 when you were expecting something closer to $300. I wouldn’t wait around, because some of the
Milly items were absolutely gorgeous: they’ll go fast!
Skivvies: What girl doesn’t like pretty under things?! However, sometimes it’s hard to spend so much money on such little fabric. When items in this department go on sale, you do not wait around.
Hanky Panky’s and
Chantelle sets for 40% off simply must be taken advantage of!
Women’s Sportswear/Bridgewear/Clubwear etc.: I think all the titles for this section are somewhat confusing, but no one has asked my opinion on the matter. I digress. This floor is wear you’ll find
Tory Burch,
Pink Tartan,
Tevrow + Chase,
Donna Karan,
Eileen Fischer, etc. The sale selection here was virtually non-existent. Most labels only had one or two pieces on sale, and you really had to hunt to find those. My advice? Wait it out…
