This cocktail isn’t for the amateur drinkers. While having a total of two shots in it, there aren't many other ingredients so the liquor doesn’t get diluted that much. Here’s the standard version of a Long Island:
Ingredients:
• .5 oz triple sec
• .5 oz light rum
• .5 oz gin
• .5 oz vodka
• .5 oz tequila
• 1 oz sour mix
• cola
• lemon wedge for garnish
Preparation:
1. Pour the spirits and sour mix into a collins glass with ice.
2. Stir well or shake.
3. Top the glass off with cola.
4. Garnish with the lemon wedge.

The most popular variation in San Antonio is of course, the Texas Iced Tea. Add half an ounce of bourbon to everything to fulfill the “everything’s bigger in Texas” mantra. The best place to get a Long Island Iced Tea in San Antonio is at Stonewerks Caffe at the Quarry. I’ve had it there a few times and it contains the perfect balance of all the ingredients, a sweet taste with a slight kick at the end. Unfortunately, perfection has its price; just one of these complex drinks will cost $8. Stonewerks is a very popular place for after work drinks with the office, so just one or two won’t break the bank. For the best Long Island in San Antonio, go to Stonewerks at the Quarry.
