Zombie walks and candy corn aside, what are your plans for this weekend? If you are at a loss and perhaps have kids in tow, here are some fun events a local Farmers Markets:

Saturday 10/24: Watts Farmers Market presents the Seed Lady of Watts cooking demonstration. The food demo will take place from 11-1pm and will feature sprouted tortillas and greens – yummy fall treats!

Sunday 10/25: Hollywood Farmers' Market is giving away 300 pumpkins to little shoppers! Get there early they will go fast! While you are there you may want to stop by the West Hollywood Weavers for a beautiful handmade scarf or rug to hearth really perk up your fall wardrobe and home design.

Sunday 10/25: Atwater Farmers Market will also be supplying youngsters with free pumpkins to decorate while Chicks with Knives demonstrates and samples out Grilled Cheese sandwiches with leeks and more surprises!

While you are there stock up on Fuji apples, fresh in the markets, perfect for bobbing and baking. The LA Baking Examiner has posted this tasty crumb topped apple pie you may want to try.There are also a bounty of deep rich greens to sauté as side dishes and add depth to soups and mushrooms are a great treat as appetizers and main courses this fall. Celebrate the Harvest with your LA Farmers’ Markets this weekend!
