This Friday, January 9th, at 7:00 pm The Northeast Ohio Management Society, sponsored by the BYU Marriott School of Management presents a man whose career touchdowns may not eclipse some bowl record, but he does when it comes to patents. The NEO Management Society and BYU's speaker this month is one of the foremost product designers in the world. John Spirk is a co-founder of Nottingham-Spirk, one of the leading new product invention and development groups in the US, right here in Cleveland. It is responsible for the creation of hundreds of successful products with over 500 commercialized patents. Combined sales of products created by John's company exceed $30 billion.
The company's consumer product innovation programs have produced dramatic results for Fortune 500 clients as well as fast growth entrepreneurial firms. For example, the company has successful relationships with General Electric, Sony, Black & Decker, Alcoa, and Hasbro, among others. Recently, Sherwin-Williams has received international acclaim for the revolutionary Dutch Boy Twist & Pour paint container created by Nottingham-Spirk. For more information about Nottingham Spirk, see its website, www.ns-design.com. Consider this an appetizer as your Examiner plans to attend this event because soon I will be writing a piece on NS Design and "The Two John's", John Nottingham and John Spirk as they were classmates and friends of my sister, who is a graphic designer, while at the Cleveland Institute of Art in the late 60's. This successful pair also were the commencement speakers for CIA's May 2008 Graduating Class of which my daughter was a member. So, I can vouch for the presentation, the creativity and as Creative Director for an advertising agency and production company who knows them; their spectacular facility overlooking Murray Hill and University Circle can not be matched. I have planned a complete article about N/S for this year and it is coming, however when a press release announcing John's engagement came across my desk, I felt this would be the perfect precursor. Go and be wowed! The details of this event are below. Nottingham Spirk is in Cleveland Hts, not at the Rockside Rd. address  where the event is being held, this Friday Night. You'll want to brush afterwards and paint a room. It'll make sense after the presentation, I promise... as I promise to bring you a longer piece on this astounding pair and how they started it all in a garage.

All professionals and their spouses are invited as are small business owners, entrepreneurs, managers, executives, and others who would like to develop a stronger network of professional relationships and establish new friendships are invited.

WHERE: 502 Rockside Road, Seven Hills, Ohio
(From Cleveland, Travel South on I-77; Turn Right on
Rockside Road & Travel West for about 1 Mile)
