Exorcism of a ghost, a firsthand account
Amanda wanted to move from her townhouse to another apartment because she suspected that the energy was bad at her place. More specifically, she believed it was haunted. Sometimes she would walk through the halls of her place and something would push her against the walls. She explained that she could never get enough sleep in her own bedroom because the energy felt unwelcome and she had a hard time sleeping. For some reason, from what she was able to detect herself under her own abilities, it seemed like it was the ghost of “Judy Garland” since she had visions of her.
After closing my eyes and sensing what it could be, I told Amanda, “It looks like Judy Garland... but for some reason, it feels like a guy.” Amanda got chills because that felt oddly right to her. She later invited me over to the new place which was close to the townhouse that was haunted.
When I arrived at Amanda's new place, she had problems with the move. The movers kept breaking things. Worse, she lost the key to the new place and had to drive across town to get another town. She suspected that the ghost took the first house key. I could not tell at the time if a ghost had something to do with it or if the frustration and stress of moving was more responsible. However, she asked if I wanted to visit the old place so that I can check it out while she got some remaining boxes.
When visiting the townhouse, the energy of the lower part of the house felt heavy as if it were humid and harder to breathe in the area. It was slightly dimmer than the rest of the house. Walking through the hall, I felt pressure pushing against me physically. The energy in the hall felt like an “ick.” Most notably, the hall led to her bedroom. The combination of the heavier air, slightly dimmer lighting, physical pressure against my body and the “ick” factor led me to believe there was the energy of a haunted presence.
Going up the stairs, the energy felt a bit lighter. It definitely did not feel remotely heavy as the hallway. I walked around the upstairs floor, which was one large room, for a while and detected a large shift in energy. When I crossed a certain point of the room, the energy incredibly light and feminine to the point of being happy. When I crossed back toward the stairs, it felt masculine and brooding. In the feminine side of a room, that's when I saw visions of a man dressed up in an elaborate woman's clothes.
This man, which was haunting the townhouse, had been a drag queen.
I kept walking back and forth across where I felt the energy shift occurs because it was very strange to feel this shift very defined in the room. I stopped where I felt the “boundary” and told Amanda, “About right 'here' is where I feel it goes from masculine to feminine.” Amanda looked under my foot and gasped. The missing house key was right underneath it. Amanda had been right all along that the ghost took it.
As Amanda continued to pack her things, I told Amanda that I wanted to clear the energy of the place so that whoever was moving into the townhouse would not have to deal with this. I went into the bedroom to have a talk with the ghost. I glared at where the energy was heaviest and closed the door behind me.
“Okay, she's moving out! Please stop causing trouble with her.” The ghost did not respond but I hoped that it understood. Then a peculiar thought entered my head. “Well, I know why she's leaving... why are you here?”
“THIS IS MY HOUSE!” it yelled. I could not see this ghost, but I definitely heard it. Hearing a ghost is not the same as hearing a person talk in a conversational tone. To some extent, you “hear voices” and it's my experience that helped differentiate this outside voice from some imaginary thought. Because sensing ghosts uses the same part of my head as my imagination, when I was younger, I just thought I had an overactive imagination.
“I KNOW that!” I raised my voice because this entity had caused trouble for my friend and I had to let it know that I could not be pushed around. Also, my curiosity would have overrode any fear I would have had. After all, how many drag queen ghosts do I know? Just this one. Although I was not planning to dispel any ghosts that night, I went into exorcist mode and the first step is figure out why the entity is there in the first place. These days, exorcism is called “spirit release” because that is a neutral term that focuses on the task at hand: Releasing a spirit from a place. It also does not remind people of the movie, The Exorcist.
I asked again firmly, “Why are you here?” About a minute of silence went by before I heard, “I'm afraid” from the ghost. “I'm afraid of going to that 'other place.'” With the tone of the words 'other place,” he meant a forsaken place in the afterlife.
“That is the dumbest thing I've ever--” Then I completely stopped right there. I just realized this was a gay guy who dressed in drag, completely afraid to move on because he honestly believed that was he going to Hell. This shook me a little because this was an example how a strong emotion could keep people from moving on and turning into a ghost. This man completely bought into the very extreme Christian idea that being gay would send you to Hell into the very core of his being so that when he died, his soul was determined to stay on Earth and not move on out of utter fear.
The second step in an exorcism for me is find another place for the entity, hopefully one that can keep it so that it is unable to return here. I looked at a few other dimensions, talked with a few spirits and went with the most stereotypical place for him to go. If he's a “fairy,” there's no better place for him to go than the “land of fairies.” I check with fairy spirits to make sure I have their permission because I cannot simply use any place as a dumping ground for a soul like leaving a baby at an orphanage. At the same time, if he's not willing to stay there or no one from that world is going to take care of him, the ghost will just come back here and nothing got done.
I traced my finger in the air in a large rectangle shape that mimics an opening of a door. On the other side of this door was the land of fairies. The other side of the door looked pink, cloudy and sparkly and I could already tell that the ghost was eager to go. I told the ghost, “You have 60 seconds to go through this door before I close it. I only have that long to keep it open.” Knowing that it did not have much time, it rushed to the door and passed through it. To make sure that it did not come back, I traced my finger in the air again and completely closed the door.
I cleared the leftover energy of the bedroom and any energy or presence that it had. I asked Amanda to come into the bedroom and feel the energy of the room. She said that she did not “feel” him then I told her that he was gone. I wish I could have done this before she decided to move, however, her new place had a spectacular view of the ocean so moving was still a good choice.
