Past lives and reincarnation in our everyday life

One man, although never having visited France, took a trip to Paris and the city felt very familiar to him without being able to explain it. What he found very odd was that instead of dining at fancy restaurants, he only ate at bakeries. Without much of a guide, he seemed to know the city like the back of his hand although he had never been to Paris before; he would turn at a corner and expect a church and found find it there. He found that he knew the place so intimately that he cried when he left the city because he left a place that felt like home.

 

A past-life reading on this man revealed that in a previous existence, he had been a Catholic priest in Paris who often visited bakeries in very early mornings. He had been born and raised just outside the city and when he join the priesthood, he went to Paris and never left the city until he passed on.

 

 

Sometimes, the results of a past life can manifest physically in our current bodies. Birthmarks and some defects are typical of this. I read one man's past life and I saw that he had been a knight in a jousting tournament and his lady gave him a “special armor” for his chest. During the joust, the opponent's lance managed to connect to the center of his armored chest. Instead of protecting the knight from the blow, the armor completely caved to the lance, leaving a big hole and instantly killing the knight.

 

The man who I read for had a stunned look on his face. When I asked him what was wrong, he took off his shirt and showed me his chest. He was a very well-built and fit man, but in the lower center part of his chest, there was a hollow part, as if one could put a small tennis ball in it. It matches the part of the body where I saw the jousting lance enter his body in his previous existence.

 

In June 5^th, 2009, Grand Central Publishing published Soul Survivor which stands to be the most extensively documented case of a reincarnation. The book is about a two-year-old named James Leininger who started having nightmares about having planes on fire and at age three, he began talking about specific scenarios and experiences. After the parents did some research with veteran groups, it turns out that James had the memories of a man named James Huston, a fighter pilot who died in Iwo Jima during World War II 60 years ago. What makes the claim remarkable was that he was able to talk to various veterans who knew James Huston and young James was able to share memories as if he were still alive. Even more impressive, at age five, young James was taken to Japan and any without prompting, he was able to point out the exact location where James Huston's plane crashed. This type of documentation is very rare as reincarnation does not cleanly translate from one life to another in such detail and with the opportunity to confirm the past at an overwhelming scale.

 

Although finding out what a person had been in a previous existence can serve mostly as just an interesting story for some or as a curiosity for others, a past-life reading can provide insight into why a person may have a particular pattern or behavior when there is no other explanation in his or her lifetime for that pattern. One man had a problem with money. He was uncomfortable dealing with money and as soon as he had money he was inclined to spend it right away. In a past existence, he had been a child of very rich parents so anything he had wanted was automatically provided for him and thus, he had never really dealt with money since other people did that for him. After this, he sought books that would talk about managing money so he would have a better understanding of it, but he still needed to learn to keep his spending under control. In another example, a woman kept wondering why she could not keep a relationship going for more than six months. After looking at her current life, making sure that her personality or actions weren't the reason why the relationships ended quickly, she explained that felt some kind of “bad thing”or foreboding would happen around six months into a relationship so she ends up sabotaging her own relationships. One of her past lives showed that she lived during the time the Black Plague had occurred. Her relationships ended constantly due to unfortunate death and they generally would not last for more than a year. Although her past existence shows why she felt the way she did after a certain time, it was not logical for her to lose her relationships in her current life because of that foreboding feeling.

 

Looking at past-life experiences can have both entertaining value and on occasion, a practical application. By examining a life that is not currently yours but related to you, you can learn from the experiences of your past without feeling personally defensive. Since life, like the rest of the Universe, occurs in patterns, the knowledge of previous patterns can assist in explaining or lead to breaking current unwanted patterns.
