A dynamo of earthly inspiration, Shelley Green, executive director of the Arkansas Earth Institute, tomorrow launches the first in a series of ongoing discussion courses to be presented at the Heifer Village in Little Rock. Additional classes will occur each month through October.

Food for life series:
Making the connection between the food we eat and how it's produced
Tuesdays, July 7- Aug 18 5:30-7 pm
Discover local, fresh food choices from the summer's bounty. Learn how Heifer works globally and domestically to support sustainable food systems. Includes Arkansas Earth Institute's Menu for the Future study guide and guided tour of local Farmer's Market. Cost: $ 40
Being rooted series:
Knowing and caring for the place where we live
Tuesdays, July 21 - Sept 1 - Noon-1:30 pm
Develop a bioregionalism perspective; focus on knowing and protecting our place and explore how Heifer's work is shaped worldwide by the land and local communities. Includes Arkansas Earth Institute's Discovering a Sense of Place study guide and guided tour of the Heifer Village wetlands and native flora.
Early Bird Registration by July 7 - $30
