The Village of Arden (that comprises of three different communities (Arden, Ardentown, and Ardencroft) was founded in 1900 by Frank Stephens and Will Price. Arden is a Single Tax economy, where a person’s house is not taxed, only the land it sits on.
The Ardens is known for its artist community and for its theater – the Candlelight Dinner Theatre. The community is a artist haven, where many of Delaware’s artists, sculptures, crafters, singers, and musicians live and work.
WHERE TO STAY:
Although the Ardens do not have a Bed and Breakfast or a hotel, there are numerous hotels chains in the North Wilmington area. Also in downtown Wilmington, there is the historical DuPont Hotel. The luxury hotel is located in the heart of Wilmington and is the perfect center for all the historical sightseeing of Wilmington and Arden. The hotel opened in 1913 and features French cuisine in its historic dining room – The Green Room. The hotel also features a bar and lounge and meeting facilities.

EVENTS and SIGHTS:
The Arden Fair is an annual event schedule on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend. The outdoor fair runs the length of the community’s main street. The fair features handmade crafts, antiques, books, plants, rides and games, food stands, and live music in the beer garden.
The Candlelight Theatre is a historic site. Once a barn, it was also Delaware’s first Dinner Theatre to open its doors to the public. Today it holds special Comedy nights as well as great performances of popular plays.

Going north on I95, take the Harvey Rd exit. Harvey Rd is the main entrance into the Ardens of Delaware.
Going South on I95: Take the Naamans Rd exit. Turn left onto Marsh Rd. Turn Left onto Harvey Rd.
