And you thought playing videogames was a waste of time! The guys over at MarioMarathon are currently holding a live session, playing through all of the main entries in the Mario series to raise money for charity. They began this morning with the original Super Mario Bros. and will continue throughout the weekend.

This is their second Mario Marathon. Last June they raised over $11,600 over a three day period, and they're looking to top that this year. At the time of this writing they've raised over $5000. Not a bad start at all.

All proceeds go to Child's Play, a foundation that donates games and toys to children's hospitals around the world. Since its start in 2003, the charity has raised over $3.5 million dollars. Learn more about Child's Play here. Learn more about the guys at MarioMarathon here. Please check out the video stream below and give if you can! This is for a great cause.
