Wolves former Captain Darren Haydar

Last night in Van Andel Arena, in a game Wolves announcer Jason Shaver dubbed the "it's not freaky Friday yet but this is one freaky Friday game", the Wolves were slammed into the ice with a huge loss.

Wolves former Captain Darren Haydar, who led them to the Calder Cup win last June, came out sporting a mullet for kicks on the arena's 80's night. After having a little fun skating around with it on during the pregame, it was removed and they quickly got down to business.

The Wolves put up a good fight in the first period and then just completely lost it in the second and third.

I don't blame the loss on any one person or line on the team though. If you look at the stats of the Griffs goalie, the Wolves really had their work cut out for them from the start. I know they could have beat them if they would've applied themselves, but there is always tonight's game to redeem themselves.

They have the chance to keep their home streak going, which will bring them back out of the woods and be the first of three straight in front of their amazing home crowd.

The game tonight is against the Milwaukee Admirals, puck drop is 7 P.M. doors open at 6 P.M.
