NBC premiers new Road Trip RV reality show
On Tuesday 7th July at 8pm (PT)
NBC added the eight-episode “
Great American Road Trip” reality show to its summer lineup. The hour long
pilot, produced by
BBC Worldwide and hosted by comedian
Reno Collier, featured seven families of four battling their way across America, from Chicago to Los Angeles, on historic
Route 66. If you missed the first episode you can logon to the
NBC website to catch the rerun.
Along the way the families must complete a series of challenges in order to avoid elimination and stay in the running for the $100,000 grand prize. The first family to be eliminated were the Katzenberg's from Westport, Connecticut. Reno Collier commented on the show recently, “This show is a blast. I’m having the time of my life. We are checking out everything from the
Grand Canyon and
Wrigley Field to the world’s biggest bottle of
ketchup. Seriously, what’s better than that – I love ketchup.”
The program format is similar to that of the Amazing Race “Family Edition” and certainly looks like it will include as many thrills and spills as Robin Williams, and his dysfunctional family, in the riotous film “RV”.
