The season has barely started and Rashad and Rampage are already talking trash to each other. Kimbo was the last fighter brought into the gym. Dana is already excited since just having Kimbo on the show is going to increase ratings. People are going to tune in to see if Kimbo proves Dana right or wrong. Rampage right away says how he wants Kimbo on his team. This season the fighters won’t have to fight to get into the house. Rampage even went up to Kimbo saying he didn’t need to train today because he’s already going to be Rampage’s first pick. One thing is for sure and that’s the fact that Kimbo is going to have a target on his back with the slight extra attention he got between Rampage saying he is his first pick and Dana bringing Kimbo into the gym last. Luckily Kimbo did take part in the fighter evaluations.

The coaching methods of Rampage and Rashad vary. Rashad is just watching the guys punching and kicking the bags. On the other hand Rampage is actually having the fighters spar with each other and wrestle. It’s a bit strange to not see the fighters having to battle their way into the house this time around. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when the coaches make their picks especially since Rampage knows that Rashad has two guys that he definitely wants on his team because they train out of the same camp.

This time the coin toss will determine which coach gets his choice. The coach can either have the first pick of which fighter he wants on his team or he can have the power to pick the two first 2 fights. The twist is you have to win both fights to retain control of picking the fights. If you lose one of those fights the other coach gets to pick the third fight. Rashad won the toss and decided to pick his first fighter. Rashad took James as his first pick and Rampage went with Kimbo. Of course both coaches think their team is better than the other. Time will tell who truly has the better team.

The end result is that Team Rashad will consist of Jon Madsen, Mike Wessel, Roy Nelson, Darrill Schoonover, James McSweeney, Brendan Schaub, Justin Wren, and Matt Mitrione. Team Rampage consists of Kimbo Slice, Marcus Jones, Abe Wagner, Zak Jensen, Wes Shivers, Wes Sims, Scott Junk and Demico Rogers.

For his first fight choice Rampage has decided to put Jon Madsen against Abe Wagner. Rashad was beyond happy about the choice since it put his number one wrestler against a guy who has no ground game. Not a good match-up at all but it is MMA so anyone can pull off a win.

Round one started off with Jon quickly taking Abe down within the first 15 seconds. Jon began to deliver a bit of ground and pound. About Abe’s only defense was to try and keep his legs wrapped about Jon’s waist. Jon delivered a blow that busted Abe open. Jon completely dominated the round. Abe didn’t even manage to try any submission attempts.

Despite being a bloody mess after round 1 Abe still came out to fight in the second round. Round two started out almost like a replay of the first with Jon easily taking Abe down again. Abe’s only saving grace is this time he was taken down in the middle of the ring and not against the cage. The ref eventually got them back to their fight since neither one was really doing anything on the ground. Jon attempted to land a few strikes but then quickly went for another takedown. The fight ends and it’s no surprise that Jon won. With this win it also secures the fact that Rampage will not get to pick the 3rd fight since Dana had stated his team would need to win both of the first two fights to keep control. Tune in next Wednesday at 10:00PM on Spike TV to see who fights next and who will advance another step closer to the finale where they can win a 6 figure contract and become a fighter in the UFC.
