Despite taking a loss in his first round Kimbo is still hopefully that someone won’t be able to continue fighting and he’ll be able to take their place. He might have a chance at that as Marcus continues to have problems. First it was his knee and now he was suddenly sweating and lightheaded like crazy while at the house. Time will tell what happens.
Rashad’s team still has control and he decided to tell some of his fighters who he wanted to match them up against. Not a bad idea until Matt decided to go and tell someone from Rampage’s team about the match-ups. It’s not really a smart thing to tell your opponent and give them that extra time to prepare for you. In this type of situation you should take advantage of every chance you have to be one up on your opponents. Matt says it’s not a big deal and they can just switch the fights. Apparently he doesn’t realize that the matches were made to give them all the best chance to advance on to the next round. His teammates think he did it to get out of fighting Marcus.
Thanks to Matt being a bit of a snitch and telling the matches they have, Rashad has to decide whether or not to change up the matches or stick with it. Rashad decides to have Brendan fight Demico. Rampage is happy with the choice. This is one of those fights where both coaches think their fighter is the better guy.
For some reason the Team Rampage coaches were late on fight day and instead of spending time warming up, Demico was stuck waiting for them to come so he could get his hands taped up and stuff. Not a very good thing when he already has the pressure on him to try and bring his team their first win. The first round started with both men trying to feel each other out a bit before Demico went for a takedown. Brendan was able to catch him in a bit of a choke. They both quickly worked back up to their feet against the cage in a clench. Both men gave that up and went back to trying to exchange punches. Once again Demico shot for a takedown.
Demico tried to improve his position while Brendan tried to look for a way out. Demico was able to land a few blows before he got into a side mount. Demico attempted to go from side to full mount when Brendan was able to use it to his advantage and gain the top position. Eventually Brendan was able to catch Demico in an anaconda choke and tap him out. Rampage’s attitude once again struck as he was more worried about complaining that his team just took a 4th loss than to check on his fighter and try to talk him a bit up after losing. It’s sad when the other team’s coach is a bit more supportive than a guy’s own team. Tune in next Wednesday at 10:00PM on Spike TV to see if Team Rampage can finally pull off a win.
