Jason Rodriguez is in custody. He is the alleged Orlando office shooter who today, at approximately 11:30 a.m. walked into the Gateway Center and began firing. He opened fire in the Reynolds, Smith, and Hill firm where he was employed two years ago. As he was arrested, he told media that his former employers “left him to rot,” when asked why he went on the rampage.
One person is dead and five are wounded. A massive search was underway looking for Jason Rodriguez, at one point it was believed he was on the loose driving in his vehicle. He was later found at his mother’s home and was arrested without incident.
A company spokesperson for Reynolds, Smith, and Hill stated that they did not believe he was a threat and that he was let go for performance issues.
Florida Governor Charlie Crist is expected to hold a conference regarding the tragedy.
