The second step after picking up a guy or girl is going on a date. The good ol’ fashioned dinner and conversation is what I hope for, but I would not be too upset if we had some fun with a creative date. Try one of these below that allows for easy conversation and may even save you a couple of pennies.
1. Picnic in a Park
- Pick up fresh, cool snacks (fruit, chips, hummus, pita, crackers, popcorn, cheese), grab a blanket, and enjoy a picnic. Find a park that has trails so you two can take a walk and enjoy nature. This is an ideal date because it is easy on the pockets, allows you and your date to get to know each other and keeps it in an open location so you both feel comfortable.
2. Go to a Museum
- Looking at art or historical information allows those on the date to not be afraid of silence. There is always plenty to view, read, and contemplate. Museums also opens up easy conversation. “Oooh look at that picture it reminds me of where I grew up. Have you ever visited Asheville?” And the conversation can continue from there.
3. Wine Tasting and Lunch
- Another situation that allows for silence and conversation while you all taste and receive information about the different wines offered. Afterward, you and your date will probably be a bit more comfortable and can talk even more easily over a light lunch to soak up the wine.
4. Festivals and Open Markets
- During the summer, there are always festivals occurring in small towns or even in some cities. You two can cool off with an ice cream cone while viewing fresh produce, art, cosmetics, clothing, and many other items depending on the festival or market. Enjoy the market or festival’s yummy treats and unique trinkets.
5. Cook Dinner Together
- You can do this at one of your homes or you can look on-line for locations that offer cooking classes. Making a meal together means teamwork and lends itself to laying back and being playful.
