Midway: Shared tech. makes games look good

Midway's super secret new game looks better than 'Gears 2', at leas according to creative director Simon Woodroffe it is. Turning the hype machine on for an unreleased game is nothing new. But for an unannounced game? Mr. Woodroffe did let slip that we can expect this fantastic looking mystery game in 2010.

The comments Woodroffe made were at a press event for 'Wheelman' so it's possible he may have gotten 'Gears 2' confused with 'Zork'. You know... because of all the drinking.

Well before we start accusing the guy who said Midway is making a game that looks better than 'Gears 2' (see 'Mortal Kombat' series see also 'Blitz the League') of being drunk, lets lift some quotes.

It's similar to Gears, but a totally different set up. I'd say that if we were to take all of the games that sold on next gen formats, averaged a couple of things out, this will be as successful as anything in the top end. It's a very exciting concept.

Midway have got a really cool game, not the one I'm talking about but another one, a really cool game coming out of Chicago using the shared technology. It's probably not due until 2010, and the same goes for the one I'm talking about.

Alright, so maybe he was drunk. Lets all just look forward to 2010. Make a mental note of this and be ready. Hey we all, Woodroffe included, might get lucky; the new Midway game might be a harsh judgment sim.
