Another body has been discovered this morning in the wreckage of two metro trains that collided yesterday evening.
This now brings the total number killed to seven.
One Metro Red Line train smashed violently into the rear of another train during yesterday's evening rush hour. The trailing train jacknifed violently into the air and landed on top of the first train.
The incident has been declared the worst accident in Metrorail's 33-year history as cars from both trains were ripped apart. Amongst the dead is train operator Jeanice McMillan of Springfield, Va.  Rescue workeres treated 76 people on the scene and some were taken to area hospitals.
President Barack Obama expressed his condolences to the victims of the crash.

"Michelle and I were saddened by the terrible accident in Northeast Washington, D.C., today," Obama said in a statement issued Monday night. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends affected by this tragedy."

Officials have no explanation for the accident. The first train was stopped on the tracks when the second plowed into it from behind. Both trains were headed in the direction of downtown Washington.

More on this story as it continues to develop.
