Can a startup find its feet in just one weekend? This question has been tested at Startup Weekends all around the country and internationally over the last two years. Last weekend was the third annual Startup Weekend in Boulder, also the home of the very first.

People signed up with initial interests in areas as varied as developer and PR, paid $40 a head and met on Friday night for a weekend beginning with identifying a problem, thinking of a solution, building a protoype and pitching it to the rest of attendees on Sunday at 6pm.

This year team efforts included Mediapatcher, a content management system for digital images, Craigswishlist, a tool that bookmarks items on Craigslist and SpotGrab, an apartment rental location tool.

Attendees appeared to be those who like the idea of being involved in the startup lifestyle, and wanted to test the waters. As one team member said, “It was fun to sprint through an idea with a whole lot of people that I might not otherwise have had the opportunity to cross paths with.”
