Judy Berman of LimeWire reports that English singer/songwriter Amy Winehouse's taxi driver dad is cutting a CD of mostly Frank Sinatra covers! "Often, we hear that siblings of famous musicians are trying to launch careers on the back of their more talented kin. But parents? That’s a little more rare… and perhaps kind of pathetic, too. Especially if the parents in question happens to be Amy Winehouse’s dad, Mitch. You may remember our hero from such comments as, in response to questions about how his daughter was doing after her recent breast augmentation surgery, “Fantastic, fantastic. Her boobs are great as well.” So he’s a pretty classy guy already."

" Cabbie Mitch Winehouse (58) has recorded an album. The record will feature some of his original compositions, but it will be mostly Frank Sinatra covers. (You know, because Ol’ Blue Eyes didn’t do them justice the first time.)"

Meantime, Amy's problems with drug and alcohol addiction, as well as self-destructive behaviour, have become regular tabloid news. She and her former husband were plagued by legal troubles that left him serving prison time. In 2008, Winehouse faced a series of health complications that threatened both her career and her life. Apparently, she is now back in good health.
