Telecommuting is perfect for some employees and there are many companies that regularly seek out folks to perform work for them off premises. This is exactly what kind of work you think you'd be interested in; but you will need to be wary of scams.
Scams and scam artists are out there in great abundance, especially on the internet. These "work from home" or "employment opportunity" pirates are just waiting to earn their paycheck by taking your bank-account.
It isn't really all that hard to spot scams. Just follow some common sense tips. You'll be able to avoid the scams, find real telecommuting options and save your money.
(1) Never pay for a job. This is basically what you're in the market for; to get paid for your time or expertise. Taking your money to give you a job is essentially how a scammer makes their money. Why be the one to add so much as a penny to line their pockets?
(2) Don't pay for any consideration of the job. There are scammers that will ask you for money upfront to determine your "seriousness" in the job. A real employer wants to determine your skills and qualifications, not accept what would be considered a "bribe" to get the job you are seeking.
(3) Not enough information. Spotting a scam is easy if you can't contact anyone in reference to the job or employment offered. You could end up working for free or on the wrong side of the law if you cannot get a verifiable phone number, address or contact person. Check out their reputation. If they don't have one, chances are they're a scam.
