I'm the kind of person who enjoys being surprised, all the more when my city catches me off guard! Just the other day, I was at a coffee shop in the Heights shuffling through their flyer shelf when one in particular caught my eye. It wasn't especially attractive, just a plain piece of paper, but with valuable information printed on it.
I immediately zoomed in on the word free which automatically set off my skepticism (it usually does when I come across that deceiving four-letter word). I took a step back as if to gain some clarity, holding the flyer at an arm's length in front of me. How curious, I thought, nothing is free. There's always a catch...
It turns out, this time there isn't. Saturday, September 12, 2009 is the 13th Annual Museum District Day. This means 17 museums are offering free general admission from 10am to 5pm and includes free bus shuttles to each venue.
