Brazilian artist Henrique Oliveira is currently installing his latest work of art entitled Tapumes at Rice Gallery.  His large-scale installations, also known as "tridimensionals", are made from tapumes, refering to the wooden construction fences of São Paulo he began recycling for his pieces.

The discarded sheets of wood, varying in shape, size and color, pictured above, are arranged to create gigantic wave-like abstractions, emerging from the gallery's blank walls. Something is created out of nothing.
