Richelle Olson states in her lawsuit against Sacha Baron Cohen that he caused her to suffer “life-altering” injuries during the filming of his new film in which he plays the character of Bruno, an Australian fashionista.
Calling himself a European celebrity, Cohen as Bruno offered to be a guest at a 2007 charity bingo game that Olson was organizing in Palmdale, Calif.
Olson claims Bruno showed up and began to speak using “vulgar and offensive language.” She says she tried to take the microphone from him and a violent struggle ensued.
According to TMZ, the suit claims Cohen assaulted Olson, after which she suffered brain bleeds and at times needs assistance to walk. Olson’s attorney, Kyle Madison gave TMZ a statement that read in part,
The actions of Mr. Cohen and those acting in concert with him have resulted in life-altering injuries to my Client. My focus is her well-being and to secure a fair, just and equitable remedy for her claims. This claim is distinguishable from Mr. Cohen’s previous lawsuits as a Defendant…”
On Sunday, Cohen appeared as Bruno at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards and was involved in a staged altercation with rapper Eminem.
