Michael Jackson, 50, has died of what appears to be, pending an autopsy, cardiac arrest.

Paramedics arrived at Jackson's Los Angeles home just before 12:30 p.m., Fire Department Capt. Steve Ruda told the Los Angeles Times.  Jackson was nott breathing and paramedics performed CPR.

He was rushed by ambulance to the hospital, only two minutes away from his home.

Prior to the status of his son's health being reported, Jackson's father, Joe, told E! from his Las Vegas home, "His mother is on her way to the hospital now to check in on him. I am not sure what's wrong. I am waiting to hear back from them."

According to TMZ, La Toya, his sister, ran in the hospital hysterical crying after Jackson was pronounced dead.

Jackson is survived by three children, Michal Joseph Jackson, Jr.; Paris Michael Katherine Jackson; and Prince “Blanket” Michael Jackson III.
