Orlando shooting: Police confirm suspect Jason Rodriguez in custody after 1 dead, 5 wounded
According to Orlando, Fla. police, the man suspected of a mass shooting in a downtown office building has been detained.
Jason Rodriguez, 40, is a former employee of construction engineering firm Reynolds, Smith & Hill, according to the Los Angeles Times. The shooting took place at about 11:50 a.m. at Legions Place near Interstate 4 and Ivanhoe Blvd.
He was arrested at his mother’s home after a SWAT team spotted him through a window.
The Times reports that one person is dead and 5 have been shot in the attack, in which a handgun was used.
Those who have family members who work in the area can get information by going to College Park Baptist Church at 1914 Edgewater Drive, according to police.
The victims range in age from 23 to 49 years old and three of the four shot have been taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Two others were taken to Florida Hospital Orlando, according to the Times.
