KXXV reports that official sources, speaking under the condition of anonymity, said Hasan received a poor performance evaluation while at Walter Reed.

Hasan was born in Virginia, is single, and has no children. He graduated from Virginia Tech University in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry.

In 2001, Hasan obtained his medical degree from the military’s Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md. He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship at Walter Reed.

Last week, Hasan reportedly had the word “Allah” keyed into his car. According to KXXV, he reported the incident as a hate crime.

Additionally, the gunman’s neighbors told KXXV that on Thursday, he was giving away copies of the Qur’an and all of his furniture.
