12 dead in Fort Hood shooting, school lockdown updates
At about 3:38 p.m. reports indicated that 9 were dead in the Fort Hood shooting. However, KXXV in Killeen now reports 12 are dead.
According to recent updates, at 3:52 p.m. two suspects were in custody. Shortly thereafter, the army reported both a shooter and a police officer were killed.

The Associated Press reported at about 4:10 pm. That President Barack Obama called the Fort Hood shootings a “horrific outburst of violence.”
By 4:13 p.m., Scott & White Hospital was on complete lockdown.
ABC News reports one shooter’s identity as Malik Hassan. The primary gunman used two handguns in the attack. Reports also indicate the gunmen were soldiers.
Temple ISD is on lock down and police officers have been placed at the campus to facilitate dismissal.
Belton ISD and all nine Killeen ISD schools are on lockdown. Parents are asked to stay away. Military police are posted at all locations.
All classes at Texas A&M Central University have been cancelled.
