College soccer player, Elizabeth Lambert, has been making headlines due to a being caught on video giving an opponent an elbow in the back and pulling another’s hair so hard she's yanked to the ground.
UK’s Sky News is calling Lambert, 20, the ‘dirtiest ever’ female soccer player.
The aggressive behavior took place during a recent game between Brigham Young University and the University of New Mexico.
New Mexico suspended the soccer player indefinitely and the school’s athletic director, Paul Krebs, said “There is no way to defend her actions.”
Lambert has been roundly criticized by the media and many on the Web, however, she also has her supporters. Former Alabama soccer player, Emily Pitek, has applauded Lambert's actions. She said of women in soccer, “You need to really show that you’re not some dainty little priss-pot and just go hammer somebody.”
Lambert later apologized for her behavior saying, “My emotions got the best of me in a heated situation.”
