Only 17 years old, Ally Maize is making big waves in water conservation. Founder of the Los Angeles nonprofit Green Youth Movement, a wonderful organization aiming to educate kids and teens about environmental awareness, eco-friendly behavior and small steps that can make a big difference for the future, Maize believes that daily, eco-friendly changes to our lifestyle can make a significant impact toward helping conserve our environment.
In a partnership with waterless auto detail company, Eco Detail, the Green Youth Movement (GYM) will host its first waterless carwash to spread local awareness for water conservation while providing easy tips and solutions to living green.
The Green Youth Movement's waterless carwash will take place on:
Saturday, October 17th, 2009 at the Barrington Dog Park in Brentwood, CA.
Eco Detail recently developed an environmentally friendly 2-in-1 wash and polish technique that utilizes a plant derived polymer compound to clean and protect cars. Eco Detail does not require water, therefore eliminating a significant amount of water waste.

Most people don't realize that everyday activities, such as washing your car, can add up to a lot of water waste," says Maize. "Hosting this waterless car wash is our way of showing the community one example of how a simple lifestyle change can benefit the environment."
The environmental and financial benefits of a waterless carwash include:

Maize has also done her part to make sure her peers are involved. Maize's classmates, students from the Archer School for Girls, are pitching in to help wash cars and raise money for their senior class. So while water conservation remains an ongoing process, Green Youth
