Wesley Chapel Barber Shop is fresh.  The initial thought of walking into a barber shop conjured a vision of Floyd the Barber, outdated Popular Mechanics magazines, and guys nodding out waiting for a cut.   This place is anything but that.  The relaxing atmosphere, hip music, 10 large flat screen TV’s playing every sports channel imaginable, and several professional barbers who look nothing like Floyd, make this barber shop a winner.

What sets them apart?

  • Watching the various styles of barbering techniques was fascinating, and with 10 chairs to host cliental, there were a lot going on.  Kid’s cuts, tapers, fades, flattops are all standard stuff, but beyond that, there seemed to be a barber for every man’s style who walked in the door.  They have a barber for everyone.  I saw men come in wearing suits, men in scrubs, black-berry business guys, artists, morning joggers, people on their work breaks, kids...you name it they can cut it.
  • Complementary open-razor hot lather neck/outline shaves.
  • The attention to every detail like very comfortable chairs and the really cool air-hoses used to blow hair off after a cut.
  • Beyond haircuts they provide, Face Shaves, Head Shaves, a Beard Trim, Goatee and Mustache Trim or a Cleanup.

Wesley Chapel Barber Shop has a walk-in first come first serve policy, but you can also request your favorite barber on the sign in sheet when you sign in.  The waiting area is laid back and comfortable with TV’s and free popcorn to enjoy.  They have a cash only policy, but have an ATM in case you forget your cash.

Note: A well-run Medi Spa, Day Spa or Hair Salon is a gem to find and this information needs to be shared.  But not all Spa’s and Hair Salons are created equally.   With that said, not all will be selected for review as maintaining a selection of Tampa Bay’s best is an absolute must for this column.
