Sen. James "Global Warming is a Hoax" Inhofe (R-Okla) is planning to attend the 2009 Copenhagen Climate Summit in December, where he'll mix with climate scientists, government officials and advocates.

But why would he want to be there? Inhofe wouldn't even take his chair at the Senate's Environment and Public Works committee sessions to mark up energy-climate legislation last week.

The question was answered on the Larry Kudlow show, according to a local Oklahoma newspaper, the Ada Evening News.

Said Inhofe: "I'm always the spoiler at this thing. Last night I was on the Larry Kudlow show. He said, 'Inhofe, the one-man truth squad is going to Copenhagen.'

"So when Barbara Boxer, John Kerry and all the left get up and say, 'Yes, we're going to pass a global warming bill, I will be able to stand up and say, 'No, it's over. Get a life. You lost. I won,'" said Inhofe.

Wow, that sure is impressive.

In the TV interview, the senator also admitted telling all the other Republican senators on the committee not to show up so they wouldn't have an official marked-up document. Those who are following this story know that after three days, Chairwoman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif) advanced the legislation out of the committee without the absent members' input.

A bipartisan effort led by Kerry (D-Mass) and Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.), along with the White House and EPA, is under way to craft a bill that is acceptable to at least 60 members.

I predict the full Senate will pass an energy-climate bill early next year, especially with buffoons like Inhofe who make the opposing side look silly.
