Leftover Halloween candy project
It’s post Halloween and everyone is so over the weekend sugar buzz. But what to do with all of that leftover mini candy? Gather up the kids, invite their friends and have a candy house making party! It's a great way to recycle PLUS get ready for the next big holidays.
What you'll need
- Clean Half & Half Cartons or similar small cartons-milk, juice, etc.
- Frosting-This will be “glue” and the house trim
- Graham Crackers-Walls
- Pretzels-small stick or star shaped
- Candy-Licorice, M&M’s ,Nerds, Kit-Kat’s, Resses Stickes, suckers, etc.
- Styrofoam or other firm base
- Aluminum foil
- Newspapers or old blankets to cover the workspace
Directions:
- Spread newspapers or blankets on the floor or large table
- Open up the candy, put in like piles or bowls
- Use frosting to adhere Graham crackers to cover the cartons on all sides. Use half graham crackers for the "roof"
- Cover Styrofoam or other base with foil

- Use frosting to adhere “house” down to base
ideas for decorations:
- Licorice, Kit Kats, Reeses sticks or Pretzels for doors and windows
- Suckers/Lollipops for trees
- Nerds for snow
- M&Ms make good lights
