Are MD offices lying about having flu and H1N1 vaccinations?

Are you, or do you know someone that is having trouble getting the seasonal flu or H1N1 vaccination?

We have heard, a dozen times, who should be among the first to get the swine flu vaccination. People with chronic illness, children, and health care workers should be among the first to receive the vaccination

.
But, none of the healthcare workers that I have spoken with have even had the opportunity to receive the vaccination. The hospital that I work for in Northern Kentucky has not been given any indication of when the vaccination will arrive.

I have called multiple pediatric offices and get the same answer every time. “We don’t have any… Just keep calling.” This is for both seasonal and H1N1 vaccinations.

It becomes very frustrating for many parents especially the parents of asthmatic or diabetic children.

I know a mother that was told by the pediatrician himself that their office had 130 doses. With a sick child the MD, (we’ll call him Dr. John Doe) told her to wait until the child was well and they would vaccinate the child in a week or two.

This mother called her brother immediately, to let him know that they office finally had the vaccine in. The brother called the MD office immediately, and was told by the very rude receptionist, that whoever told him that their office had the vaccine was a liar. He argued with the receptionist, stating that he knew they had 130 doses per Dr. John Doe. After being left on hold for more than ten minutes, the receptionist, with a snotty attitude scheduled an appointment for his three young children. He was threatened that if he was even one minute late the children would not be vaccinated.

I’d like to know why Kroger has seasonal flu vaccinations, but the health department and MD offices claim not to have any. I am beginning to think that they are hoarding the vaccinations, for reasons that they don’t care to share with those of us at risk.

Being in Northern Kentucky, it makes me mad to watch the news and see that there are H1N1 clinics being set up weekly, if not daily in Cincinnati. I’ve watched on the news, that some of the Cincinnati public schools started vaccinating their students a couple of weeks ago.

I’d like to know why Cincinnati has received so many more vaccination than Northern Kentucky. After all we are just right across the river, and many of Northern Kentucky’s residents are employed in Cincinnati.
Ohio has received almost 300,000 more H1N1 vaccinations than Kentucky.

Below is a list of the H1N1 vaccine shipment status that I copied and pasted from the CDC website.
