Become a weed-eater! Join the fun July 18th for a class here in Spring/The Woodlands with Houston Arboretum's edible wild plant instructor, Dr. Mark "Merriwether" Vorderbruggen! Come learn how to recognize and prepare dozens of wild edible plants and also which toxic plants you need to avoid. This knowledge can help cut your food bills as well as prepare you for uncertian times. Scouts, hikers, and hunters are strongly urged to attend!

What to bring: Water, bug repellent, sunscreen, snacks/lunch, camera, notepad, shoes appropriate for walking on uneven dirt trails. Long pants are recommended for protection against bugs.

This is a primitive nature preserve. There are NO bathrooms, running water or shaded pavilions. There are mosquitoes, snakes, alligators, poison ivy, dirt paths, and sand dunes. Enter at your own risk. The nearest bathrooms/cold drinks/food is a gas station just north of the nature preserve on Riley Fuzzel Road.

The walk will begin from the parking lot at 9:30.  Donations gratefully accepted.
