Michael Housewright cuts a tall, lean figure when he walks into clothing stores searching for the right stuff to wear. Having strolled into the Brooks Brothers outlet store in Cypress on Sunday, his mission was to find a white shirt for a wedding overseas.
Housewright, who stands about 6-foot-5, appears imposing from a distance, but possesses a dry sense of humor about his size. Clothes off the rack are a challenge for him to fit in. His standards are practical but exacting, just like his eye for fine wines.
He is wine and travel director for Block 7 Wine Company, an 8,000 square-foot warehouse located on 720 Shepherd Drive in Houston. Some might call it the Costco of grape expectations. The wine list is vast, and the company's reach extends from California's Napa Valley to Italy.
Whether you're a connoisseur or a recreational taster, Block 7 is worth checking out. Like Housewright, the venue is hard to miss.
