Wall Street's downward spiral has generated concerns worldwide, consumers are placing a premium on their spending habits. While retail is among many industries being affected by the current economic climate, consumers can find quality goods on sale and stay within their budgets.
This weekend in the Houston area, factory outlets are where it's at. The Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store at Katy Mills, for instance, is taking 30 percent off on selected items through Sunday. At the Brooks Brothers outlet in Cypress' Houston Premium Outlets, there's a Columbus Day Factory Sale that features 25 percent off men's and women's outerwear until Monday.
If you're looking to load up on basics such as socks and underwear, take a look at Marshall's, TJ Maxx, Ross and Kohl's. You'll also find many more everyday discounted items including dress and polo shirts, slacks and sportcoats.
Finally, check the newspaper ads for the featured discounts at your local Macy's and Dillard's. Compare prices, set an amount for how much you want to spend, and go get 'em.
