Downtown Lexington, KY
Enjoy roaming some of Lexington's downtown streets vehicle-free. Take this opportunity to check out some of the downtown shops, participate in the planned activities, or get information from one of the many booths that will be set up for the event.

Families will not want to miss Lexington's 2nd Sunday event scheduled for this afternoon. Downtown Lexington streets between Mill and Deweese will be closed off to encourage Lexington residents to get downtown, get out of your cars, and walk, run, skate, or bike on the streets that are blocked off.

The streets will be blocked off between 2-6 p.m. There are a variety of events planned to entertain 2nd Sunday visitors. This includes everything from a jump rope and hula hoop competition sponsored by the UK Student Public Health Association to the Community Action Council's Obstacle Course to the YMCA sponsored Group Cycling class, plus many more.

In addition, Windstream will be providing several family activities that are not only fun, but promote health, such as a 49 yard dash for kids, a rock wall, and a bungee run.

Whether you make your way downtown on foot, by bike or skates, don't miss this wonderful event. The goal of the event is to promote healthy living in Kentucky, a state repeatedly ranked among the top ten states for "obesity and obesity related diseases". So, get out and get healthy, all while taking in the beauty and convenience of  a vehicle-free downtown Lexington.

Additional Information: Lexington's 2nd Sunday location is on Main and Short Streets between Mill Street and Deweese Street.
Parking Information: Through traffic will be blocked at Main Street and Short Street at Martin Luther King Drive, Limestone Street, Upper Street, and Mill Street. These roads will be blocked from 1-7 p.m. Free Parking is available at the Courthouse Garage, Government Annex Garage, Transit Center Garage, and Victorian Square Garage.
