Dave Mundy is a veteran of more than 20 years of newspaper journalism and is the former editor of the Katy Times and Orange Leader newspapers in Texas. His work exploring the roots of modern "education reform" with the Times in 1998 won a National Newspaper Association award for Best Coverage of Education, and he authored a book on the politics surrounding the Texas education code rewrite, DUH! Texas: A Case Study in Educational Takeover. He also served six years in the US Marines as a combat correspondent, and is now a freelance writer and photographer living in Texas City, Texas.
