A ten-year journey will come to fruition shortly for a local author with a dream of embracing love.
Local author Judith Goffin, who has three other books published, will introduce her latest book, Embracing Love: Love of Self, Life and Relationships, at Graves Gallery on Aug. 27.
The book is a compilation of poetry written over a ten-year period that deal with such subjects as love of self, everlasting love, romance, the quest for love, unrequited love and forgiving ones self.
"It is my hope that this book will bring the reader closer to their own personal dreams of unconditional and perfect love" Goffin says.
Goffin's photography is also prominently featured throughout the book and will be on display separately at the gallery on Aug. 27. Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera as a child, Goffin has been shooting images through the years. The images that will be on display at Graves Gallery will be Goffin's latest work that she has printed on watercolor paper. Goffin's photography has been published in various publications and is also included in many private collections.
Goffin shoots botanical images, which include flowers, fruit and vegetables. She has shot images in many locations and in many different countries, including Canada, where she shot images at the world-renowned Butchart Gardens. Her work also has no manipulation done to it through photo-editing software and also rarely has to crop her images.
"I like honest, true things," Goffin says, "and that's what my photography is."
A portion of the sale of Goffin's books and photography will benefit the Fullerton Arboretum Foundation.
Goffin resides in Yorba Linda and is the owner of a public relations firm. She is also the author of three other books, Grieving, A Mother's Point of View, which was written after her son passed away in 2002, The Path of Discovery-Exploring, Growing and Making Life's Choices and also Getting Your Name In Lights, a public relations and marketing book.
