Ways to save during the holidays: buy at a pawn shop
Would you like to give some DVDs as a Christmas gift this year but are strapped for cash?
If your answer is yes, don’t buy them new. Where do you go then?
The pawn shop.
Local pawn shops, such as Neighborhood Pawn Shop in neighboring Placentia and La Habra Loan and Jewelry in nearby La Habra, have deals on many items for Christmas shopping. Neighborhood Pawn is having a sale of 30 to 50 percent off selective merchandise, which includes tools, diamond rings, fishing rods, video cameras and guitars, among other items. They are also offering a special for DVDs-buy three for $10. Neighborhood Pawn also has a guarantee that everything that is sold through them will be authentic, which means that if you buy a diamond ring from them, you will get a diamond ring and not cubic zirconia.
Guitar Hero 2 has seen an increase in parents bringing their children to pawn shops to buy guitars. Fender Stratocasters sell for roughly $90 at La Habra Loan and Jewelry. They normally sell for $200-$400.
CDs can also be purchased at pawn shops. The Bob Carlisle CD “Butterfly Kisses” sells for roughly $2, along with other CDs at La Habra Loan and Jewelry.
Stay tuned for other local deals to save this holiday season!
