Gov. Perry played it cool Tuesday, rebuking the Legislature for the end-of-session chaos that left five state agencies and billions of taxpayer dollars unaccounted for, while dancing around the question of a special session.
Comparing the legislative sideshow to an episode of "Lost," the governor gave a redundant, obtuse press conference with flashes of his predecessor, George W. Bush.
He was surprisingly vague when confronted with the question of a special session, a question he must have surely seen coming. After a regular session so bereft of leadership, it's less than encouraging to see the governor so nebulous on the looming issue of a special session.
Odds are that our legislators will be called back to Austin (if they have already left), but remains to be seen how legislative leadership will shape up before their peers ship out (again).
