Your table is ready

It's a bit harder to find restaurants open for dinner on Christmas Day than it was for Thanksgiving, but you still have plenty of choices - and, if you act fast, enough time to reserve a table.

Here are some good choices:

94th Aero Squadron-Van Nuys restaurant, located next to the Van Nuys airport, will serve an all-day champagne buffet offering all the dishes otherwise available at the restaurant's regular Sunday buffet - a carving table with roast beef and ham, a seafood table, a table laden with Mexican food, and of course turkey with all the trimmings. Cost: $26.95 per person.

94th Aero Squadron - Van Nuys is at 16320 Raymer Ave., Van Nuys, (818) 994-7437.

The Daily Grill at Citywalk in Universal City and in Burbank across from the Burbank airport will offer items from the chain's regular menu plus a host of specials including a heaping prime rib dinner with baked potato and creamed spinach. Cost for the prime rib dinner: $42.95 for two, $27.95 for one.

The Daily Grill is at 1000 Universal Studios Blvd., Universal City, (818) 760-4448, and in the Burbank Marriott Hotel, 2500 Hollywood Way, Burbank, (818) 840-6464.

Odyssey restaurant in Granada Hills offers an all-day Christmas buffet including ham, Angus prime rib, seafood, pasta, and of course turkey with all the trimmings. Cost: $34.95.

Odyssey is at 15600 Odyssey Drive, Granada Hills, (818) 366-6444.

Picanha Churrascaria Burbank, a Brazilian steakhouse, will offer its usual all-you-can-eat buffet of steaks and other meats plus turkey with all the trimmings. Cost: $27.95.

Picanha Churrascaria Burbank
is at 269 E. Palm Ave., Burbank, (818) 972-2100.

Monty's Steakhouse in Woodland Hills will be open for dinner as usual, with all the items available from its regular menu but no turkey.

Monty's Steakhouse
is at 5371 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Woodland Hills, (818) 716-9736.

Valley Inn Restaurant in Sherman Oaks will offer a roast turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, apple-bread stuffing and orange-glazed yams or, as an alternative, roast prime rib with mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley, with homemade bread pudding with a vanilla sauce for dessert. Cost: $28.95 for the turkey dinner, $32.95 for the prime rib.

Valley Inn Restaurant is at 4557 Sherman Oaks Ave., Sherman Oaks, (818) 784-1163.

McCormick & Schmick's in Burbank will offer a roast prime rib dinner with Yorkshire pudding, garlic mashed potatoes, and green beans and carrots. Cost: $24.95.

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood is at 3500 W. Olive Ave., Burbank, (818) 260-0505.

Larsen's Steakhouse, an upscale steakhouse in Encino, will be open serving items from its regular menu but no turkey.

Larsen's Steakhouse is at 16101 Ventura Blvd., Suite 270, Encino, (818) 386-9500.
