October events around Dallas
Ah, the smells of burning cedar and hickory permeate the almost-chilly air: it's Autumn! And with Autumn comes...Halloween!
Just because the weather is turning cool is no reason for you to start winterizing that bike of yours, Uh-uh! Not when there are scary places to visit, or rides to be had.
Following are a few ideas and places to consider as you look for your next ride and destinations.
October: Halloween, Charity rides, and Festivals
- Texas Scaregrounds in Kenndale, Tx Located just south of I-20 off of 287, it's a great place to visit with your rider group and your favorite 2-up passenger. Directions
- Thrillvania/Verdun Manor in Terrel, TX Open weekends beginning Friday September 25, get here early, enjoy all the scary attractions. NOTE: Do bring cash - they had only 1 ATM on site last year with about a 45 minute to an hour wait to get cash. Directions
- Ride for Kids, Grapevine, Tx - October 4, 2009 You join hundreds of other motorcyclists for this scenic ride through the Texas countryside, you'll have a great time while raising funds for the PBTF's medical research and family support programs! Riders on all makes and models are welcome. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 9:45 a.m. The police-escorted ride starts at 10 a.m. sharp, rain or shine! Directions
- 15th Annual Stevie Ray Vaughan Remembrance Ride & Concert October 4th - While remembering the life of Stevie Ray Vaughan, enjoy a fun-filled combination motorcycle parade and blues concert. The parade starts at The World's Largest Hooters in Dallas' West End, proceeding to Cowboys in Arlington for the all-day memorial concert. Directions to Hooters Cowboys in Arlington, Directions
