Second to chromifying your ride, gadgets for your bike and bike riding are likely the next obsession you will try to satisfy..gif)
And boy, are there gadgets to buy!
Take the skull helmet in the picture here - it's not DOT or SNELL approved, yet there is a three-week waiting period when ordering it. By the way, if you're interested in buying it click the image to visit the seller's site.
Many of us indulge in our pedantic research to acquire the newest electronic device to add to our growing walking arsenal of gadgets.
We have a blue-tooth device jammed into our ears - even when we're at the movies (trust me, I've seen you!)
Wearable computers, portable health monitoring systems (in case you don't notice that blurred vision, raised heartbeat, and clammy skin), and watches with GPS built in.
For our riding experience we are now looking to add accessories to ensure our road trips are more enjoyable:
Then there are the extreme gadgeteers who do not to know when to stop:

...yeah, that's a wearable motorcycle exoskeleton.
Do keep in mind that a main part of the joy one derives from riding is just that: riding.
No amount of gadgets, or chrome, will match the simple pleasure of rolling down the road, hearing the constant rumble of the engine, the roar of wind passing by, and the view of the road opening up before you, leading you toward unknown destinations.
Be practical, be frugal. Compare pricing of one gadget or device over another. Ask questions, get recommendations from those that already have these devices so you can avoid buying something you will later regret paying for when it fails to meet your expectations.
A couple of things you should not skimp on:
Helmets - buy the best quality (not highest prices, mind you) your pocket book will afford.
Goggles - Even a granule of sand hitting you at speed will hurt like the dickens - worse if it happens to strike your eyes!
Body Armor - in the form of riding jackets, boots, gloves and pants.
Shop smart. Ride smarter.
