Yesterday (10/24), according to the celebrity spotting community omgicu, both Gisele Bündchen and Robert Downey Jr. picked the West Village's Extra Virgin as their brunch pot of choice.

Gisele was said to have shown up with a crew of friends while Downey's guest (if any) was not spotted. Apparently Gisele was waiting for a table when seen, as the restaurant does not take reservations they were likely not expecting the group.

Extra Virgin has made a name for itself despite the location being typically quiet. In the kitchen Chef Joey Fortunato puts a new spin on tradition Mediterranean dishes. Chef Fortunato sharpened his skills working in Michelen-rated restaurants in Paris, France. Then that he returned to New York City to work in established kitchens like La Cite, Picholine and Tribeca Grill, after which he began to open his own project which became Extra Virgin.

The chef also has a revolving door of "Classics" where he keeps the menu looking fresh. At this moment, Monday is Beef Bourguignon with basmati rice pilaf, glazed carrots, pearl onions and crimini mushrooms. Saturday will be "Bistecca Fioentina" Aged New York Strip, roasted rosemary fingerlings and lemon grilled asparagus.

Extra Virgin is located at 259 West 4th Street, between Perry Street and Charles Street. Brunch is served 11 AM to 4 PM, Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant does not take reservations.
