The buzz is percolating about IndyCar star Danica Patrick going to NASCAR. Word is that Patrick’s people are talking to Dale Ernhardt Jr.’s reps, but the jury is still out on who she will sign with.
“A lot of people, I guess, thought that it was just a media hoax or her kind of blowing smoke. She’s really serious about it, and she’s going to do it with somebody,’’ says Earnhardt.
It seems that Danica Patrick’s reputation, fame and beauty would be enough to attract more viewers to NASCAR. But Texas Motor Speedway president Eddie Gossage believes she-needs to do more to promote her involvement in NASCAR.
He wants the 27-year-old Patrick (and only woman to win an IndyCar race) to help track promoters and sponsors. My question? Does Gossage ask the same of the guys who compete in NASCAR? Just google Danica Patrick and you'll see that she already has a big time draw.
"She will be good for NASCAR, whoever gets her," Earnhardt said.
Agreed.
