Jennifer Aniston, along with Holly Hunter, Catherine Hardwicke and Elizabeth Banks are being honored by Women in Film's Los Angeles division June 12 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in L.A. This annual event celebrates the achievements of women in the entertainment business.

Aniston is receiving the Crystal Award for Excellence in Film to recognize her dedicated work in film. Not only has she starred in hit romantic comedies such Marley & Me, He’s Just Not That Into You, The Break Up and Along Came Polly over the years, but Variety.com reports that she is moving on to bigger and better things now.

She has just partnered with Kristin Hahn to create Echo Films. According to Variety.com Aniston said, "We want to start generating stories and parts that would be fulfilling. There is more out there than the cliché rom-com. Girl meets guy. Guy meets girl. We have a couple of things that are at Universal, and we have a deal at Fox. It takes a long time to develop.” Aniston hopes to show the world that the common complaint that there are no great roles for women is a myth.

Currently, Aniston has 10 projects in development, The Goree Girls being the one closest to completion. It is set in the 1940s and is about the lives of incarcerated female country-and-Western performers.

This is not to say that she has moved away from her days of being an actress, though. She continues to juggle both and will be starring in the upcoming films The Baster and Bounty Hunter.
