Dennis Conner’s America’s Cup Experience in association with the Maritime Museum of San Diego will donate all proceeds from its Sunday, Nov. 8, cruises and tours exclusively to the Coast Guard Foundation for its Family Disaster Relief Fund to honor the fallen crew members of CG-1705.

On Oct. 29, the Coast Guard tragically lost seven crew members from Air Station Sacramento off the coast of San Clemente Island, Calif., during a rescue mission.

The Coast Guard Foundation’s Family Disaster Relief Fund which, among other things, assists families of the late servicemen in traveling to attend funeral and memorial services.

“We are extremely proud to honor the sacrifice of these brave service members who lost their lives last week,” said Troy Sears, President of Dennis Conner’s America’s Cup Experience. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of these fallen heroes. Because of their selfless dedication to protect this country, we are fortunate enough to enjoy the beautiful waters of the coast that we sail along.”

Open to the general public, Dennis Conner’s America’s Cup Experience and the Maritime Museum of San Diego will offer visitors and boating enthusiasts the opportunity to ride on three yachts. The yacht AMERICA, a replica of the 19th century racing yacht that first won what is now known as the America’s Cup, will be available for sails on the bay along with an opportunity to participate in a race between Stars & Stripes and Abracadabra.

Admission to the Maritime Museum of San Diego, including the Star of India, is also included with the donation to ride on the America’s Cup vessels.

Patrons can make their donations in-person (reservations still required) by cash, credit card, or by check directly payable to the Coast Guard Foundation. Contributions can also be made over the phone when making reservations. Suggested donation is $50 for the sail on AMERICA and $100 for the race between Stars & Stripes and Abracadabra.
