Life changes when you have kids. And just as soon as you think that it’s all for the better, along comes New Year’s Eve. Kids are in bed long before midnight. Unless you can scout out an expensive New Year’s babysitter, so are you. It’s like Valentine’s Day without a sweetheart.
Fortunately, Old Town Fairfax is brewing up a family-friendly New Year's party. A bonfire, a four-mile race, a train display, balloon modelers, face painting, Rocknoceros, a countdown to midnight. You may still be in bed before the ball drops in Times Square, but you'll be worn out by then anyway!
Where: Old Town Fairfax, Virginia. There are numerous parking garages in the area. The closest to the action is on University Drive, just north of North Street.
