Review: Stride Rite Children's Shoes
When my son learned to walk, I put him in cheap shoes. Why spend money on something he would outgrow in a few months anyway? Boy, was I wrong.
By the time Noah was 18 months old, he was tripping over his shoes and skinning his knees almost constantly. I thought he was just a clutz until I noticed the blisters.
He limped into a Stride Rite children's shoe store with me one afternoon, and has been skipping around ever since. The skinned knees? Gone almost instantly. The blisters? Never to return. My own parental guilt? Terrible. I like Stride Rite because the associates actually measure your child’s foot. My son likes it because the store usually has a few toys for kids to play with. The company sells its own brand of shoes, as well as other reputable names like Nike and Saucony.
The shoes aren’t cheap--$30 to $50 a pair. I consider it well worth it to know my young explorer is roaming about in comfort.
There are Stride Rite stores all over metropolitan Washington. Check the Store Locator on the Website for a list.
